How Opening Your Third Eye Can Deepen Your Spiritual Connections

17 May 2026 | By Allison Michelle Dienstman
Unlock inner guidance by awakening the third eye chakra.

The third eye refers to the symbolic energy center of intuition and inner awareness described in yogic and Buddhist traditions as the Ajna chakrahttps://dev.goodnet.org/me/explore-healing-powers-each-chakra/. It represents insight that comes from observing thoughts and emotions without distraction or judgment.

Located between the eyebrows, according to Verywell Mind, the third eye centers on turning inward and noticing life’s deeper patterns and unseen energies. Social and spiritual teachers describe it as the activation of an inner gateway that cultivates presence and connection with things beyond ordinary perception.

With regular meditation, conscious breathing, yoga, visualization, and intentional awareness, you can strengthen your relationship with your intuition and deepen your spiritual connections in daily life.

What Does the Third Eye Represent?
In Hindu and Buddhist philosophy, chakras mark points where physical experience and spiritual awareness intersect, according to Verywell Fit. These energy centers trace a path along the spine. The sixth center, known as the Ajna chakra, rests between the eyebrows in what many call the mind’s eye or third eye.

Ajna translates from Sanskrit to perceive or command. It relates to how you interpret the world through inner awareness. This chakra connects intuition with perception, helping bridge outer experience and inner understanding. Some describe it as a form of heightened sensitivity to subtle cues, similar to how animals sense shifts in their environment.

When in balance, you feel deeply attuned to your intuition and awareness. Life feels peaceful, balanced, and in the flow state. But, if this energy center becomes blocked, life falls out of alignment. Decision-making can feel difficult, perspective narrows, and rigid thinking may replace open understanding.

Why Deepening Spiritual Connections Matters
Deepening spiritual connection centers on cultivating a steady inner relationship with awareness, presence, and meaning, According to the Patheos blog. Many spiritual traditions describe this process as a return to something already within, rather than the pursuit of something external. It unfolds through simple, consistent practices that quiet mental noise and create space for reflection.

Spiritual connection grows through intentional habits like prayer, meditation, gratitude, and contemplation that bring attention back to what feels meaningful in daily life. Moments of stillness, time in nature, or quiet reflection help shift attention inward, where clarity and emotional grounding often emerge. The focus is less on achieving a specific state and more on building a consistent relationship with awareness itself.

The journey looks different for each person, but it often involves a stronger sense of inner peace, greater self-awareness, and a feeling of connection to something larger than the individual self. Over time, these practices support a deeper sense of purpose, inner steadiness, and alignment with personal values.

How to Align Your Third Eye for Deeper Spiritual Awakening
Simple, consistent practices can help open the third eye for deeper spiritual alignment. Verywell Mind recommends meditation that directs attention to the space between the eyebrows to steady the mind and draw awareness inward. Slow, intentional breathing also supports nervous system balance.

You can also use visualization techniques that imagine your third eye opening and becoming more receptive to spiritual energies. Third eye yoga postures like the lotus, dolphin, or child’s pose shift attention toward the forehead and encourage a deeper sense of presence.

Over time, these practices help quiet mental noise and create more space for observation. Subtle insights become easier to recognize, and intuition feels more accessible in your everyday decisions. Remember to keep things simple and grounded. With patience and persistence, small habits build inner knowing gradually, opening your awareness to the subtle energies of the third eye.

Good Deeds Day (GDD) celebrated 20 years of doing good around the globe in  2026 with millions of participants from 115 countries around the globe. One of these countries was Montenegro.

GDD was founded by Israeli businesswoman, philanthropist, and founder of Goodnet, Shari Arison, in 2007. This global day of doing good has continued to evolve and grow every year.

“Seeing it globally has really touched my heart, and the fact that we have so many partners around the world that have connected and have taken it upon themselves – as if it’s their own is so amazing, Arison said in a press release from GDD.

About Montenegro
Montenegro, which means Black Mountain, is a tiny republic in the Balkans that borders Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo, and Albania, reported The BBC. While the people share a long and proud heritage it just became a sovereign state in 2006. It is one of the countries that was created out of the former Yugoslavia.

This new republic joined GDD seven years ago. This year, ADP-Zid, the organization that organizes GDD chose a musical theme to promote the importance of volunteering and solidarity of youth in the community through creative expression,  according to Milena Šćepanović, the community impact accelerator of Zid.

The Musical Programs
The two musical programs, on April 16, introduced GDD and the activities that were planned for the coming months.

The first part features the students from the “Vasa Pavić” Secondary Music School in Podgorica, who held a concert in the city square. It was planned to draw attention to the importance of GDD and send a message of unity and solidarity through music.

The second part was organized by the KIC Pop Choir who promoted a strong message about the importance of volunteering and doing good deeds.

The aim, Šćepanović stressed was to use music as a tool to motivate youth to get involved in GDD, to promote positive values, and to strengthen community. “We believe that the goals were successfully achieved, as the activity generated positive reactions among young people and contributed to greater visibility of the Days of Good Deeds in Podgorica,” Šćepanović told Goodnet. “Through the shared creative process, participants demonstrated enthusiasm, openness to cooperation, and a desire to contribute to their community through volunteering and activism.”

In the next few months, ADP-Zid will hold events promoting volunteering, working with young people through creative and participatory events. Šćepanović said, “The focus will be on involving as many young people as possible in community activities, developing volunteer programs, and organizing events that promote solidarity, social responsibility, and a culture of doing good deeds.”

Good Deeds Day, an annual global day of doing good, is the pinnacle of doing good year-round. Initiated in 2007 by businesswoman, philanthropist, and founder of Goodnet Shari Arison, Good Deeds Day has grown to 115 countries with millions of participants.
