Farming for Urban Dwellers

Truck Farm enables local farming for city folk

Even urban dwellers, who don’t have their own backyard, can grow their own crops. Truck Farm proves that.
Truck Farm was founded by New York-based filmmaker Ian Cheney, with pretty simple measures: he grabbed his old truck, filled it with soil and planted some seeds. Soon he had a publicly-displayed, lush garden.
The 1986 Dodge has since been joined by sibling trucks in other spots around the United States, and together they promote their mission: “Teaching people young and old that growing food can be fun, easy, and rewarding — even if you don’t have a lot of land.” [Source: Truck Farm]
